My Approach

Welcome!

I’m so glad you are here!

It takes a ton of courage to make the decision to start counseling, so I’m happy that you are taking this step for yourself. Asking for help can be hard, especially when we don’t really know what is going on, what it is we need, or even where to go for help.

I see therapy as an opportunity to explore what is keeping us stuck. For a lot of us, our thoughts can get in our way and make things seem more difficult, so instead of moving forward, we just stay in the same pattern. I take a compassionate, relational approach, that usually has a dash of humor and educating mixed in, so you can start to see your patterns and learn what to do differently.

I am not a therapist that sits back and nods along, instead I will gently guide you and encourage you to look inwards and explore the wisdom and strength within you.

Annika Hamp, therapist in Broomfield Colorado

When we feel heard and understood, we become more open and willing to explore our true potentials.

Education, Training, and Certification

Practicing psychotherapy since 2009, I have had the honor to support people in a variety of life situations. My career has taken me from providing safety and stabilization for individuals in a detox facility to providing education and treatment in a substance abuse inpatient and outpatient facility. I have supported families with children and adolescents in residential programs, and worked collaboratively with doctors, nurses, and psychiatrists in community settings. One of my greatest privileges has been helping women who are struggling with any part of the pregnancy journey, or who are entering perimenopause or menopause. My background has given me training and experience working with trauma, grief, and codependency. Through my professional journey, I have seen first hand the power of relationship and the healing that is possible when we feel truly seen and heard.
